My semester goal

Set in week two and tracked to the end of the term. The instructor checks in on progress at the mid-point and again in the final week.

Two goals for Fall 2026

The first is to find meaningful connections between my coursework and the projects I am already building, specifically CivicQuest Ghana, the civic-education game I designed, and CivicConnect Ghana, the civic-technology platform I lead. I want each week's readings on games, learning, and emerging technology to change something concrete in how I design or study those tools.

The second is to use that integrated thinking to prepare for my comprehensive examinations. Rather than treating the seminar and exam prep as separate tracks, I want the reflections, the digital adventures, and the co-authored conference proposal to build the literature base and the arguments I will need when I sit for comps.

How I will know it worked

  • Connection Every reading reflection names at least one specific implication for CivicQuest Ghana or CivicConnect Ghana.
  • Application At least one digital adventure tests a tool or method I could fold into my own design or data collection.
  • Exam readiness By the final week I have an annotated set of sources and three defensible claims about game-based learning and civic technology that I can carry into comps.
  • Output The co-authored conference proposal is submitted to a real venue before its deadline.
